Minimum Renting Age:
You must be at least 21 years old to rent at this location. If you are between 21 and 25 years old you must pay a young driver surcharge of EUR 35.00 per day, up to maximum cost of EUR 350.00 per rental for any car group. CATEGORY D BMW 520 & CATEGORY O MINI COOPER - MINIMUM RENTING AGE IS 25 YEARS.
Maximum Renting Age:
If you are a European Union citizen and are aged 75 years and over you require a valid driving licence.
If you are a on European Union citizen and are aged 75 years and over you will require both a valid & clean driving licence and a medical certificate proving fitness to drive. CATEGORY D BMW 520 & CATEGORY O MINI COOPER - MAXIMUM RENTING AGE IS 70 YEARS.
Young driver surcharge is EUR 35.00 per day, up to maximum cost of EUR 350.00 per rental for any car group.

Security Deposit / Pre-authorisation amount:
Only Credit Cards are accepted for deposit. A security deposit on the credit card will be required to cover the excess, unless the excess waiver is purchased locally. The value of the security deposit will vary depending on the level of insurance cover purchased in Malta and/or ancillary equipment rented out with the vehicle.
The excess amount per car group will be required as a security deposit by the customer on arrival. The security deposit required is split by car group type as follows:
o Groups A, B, C, E, F €1,500 + €200 for traffic contraventions
o Groups G, H, L, N €1,500 + €200 for traffic contraventions
o Groups I, J, K, M, P €1,800 + €200 for traffic contraventions
o Groups D, O €2,400 + €200 for traffic contraventions

Taking your vehicle outside the country | |
Vehicles must not be taken out of the country of rental.
Rented vehicles may use the Gozo Ferry service to travel between the islands of Malta and Gozo, only.

Waiver and protection options | |
COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver reduces your liability if the vehicle is damaged. If the vehicle is damaged, you will pay the cost of repair up to the excess amount.
CDW is included in most rates sold on Budget websites.
CDW is available at this location. The costs and excess charges are detailed in the table below. If your rate includes CDW this cost is already included in your rental price.
SUPER CDW (SCDW)
In case of damage, the driver can reduce the excess charge by purchasing Super Collision Damage Waiver. Side Mirrors, Windsreen and Undercarriage including tyres and rims are not covered by this product. It costs EUR 16.00 per day for car groups A to D and EUR 20.00 per day for the remaining car groups.
THEFT PROTECTION (TP)
Theft Protection reduces your liability if the vehicle is stolen (subject to an excess). The costs and excess charges are detailed in the table below. If your rate includes Theft Protection this cost is already included in your rental price.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance will be offered to drivers at the rental location. PAI costs EUR 7.50 per day for all car groups.
We will pay 10,000.00 EUR if the designated driver, named on the rental agreement are accidentally injured on condition that, within 3 months of the accident, the bodily injury is the sole cause of,
A) death,
B) loss of limb,
C) irrecoverable loss of all sight in one or both eyes of the person injured, and such accident occurs,
I) in direct connection with your motor vehicle,
Ii) when travelling in, or getting into or out of any other motor vehicle.
The maximum amount we will pay to any person following any one accident is 10,000.00 EUR. Payment will be made direct to the injured person or to his/her appointed legal representative.
This personal accident insurance does not cover anyone who is seventy-one years or older at the date of the accident and anyone who was under the effect of alcohol or drugs or attempted to commit suicide.
THIRD PARTY LIABILITY
Third Party Liability covers drivers in case of damage, including damage to passengers and their property, when using a Budget vehicle.
Third party liability is included in the rental price.
Death or Third-Party Bodily Injury is limited to €5,000,000 for any one occurrence and Third Party Property Damage is limited to €1,000,000 for any one occurrence.
Windscreen Cover (LI)
This covers all the vehicle's glass fixtures with the exception of the wing mirrors. It costs EUR 7.50 per day for all car groups.

Drivers license and ID requirements | |
Each driver must show photographic proof of identity and their passport at the start of the rental. All drivers must present a full and current driving licence which has been held for at least 12 months. The licence must be valid for use in the renting country.
If your licence was issued outside the European Community you must provide an International Driving Licence.

Fuel charges | |
Gas - in Malta and Gozo all hire cars come loaded with full tank of fuel. At the rental station drivers can purchase fuel up front (fuel is offered at local pump prices) or bring back full at no extra charge. If the tank is less than full, missing fuel is charged at the price per litre shown on the rental agreement at the time of collection.
Fuel up front is offered at the counter and the cost of this is dependent on the vehicle make-model's fuel tank capacity.

One Way Rentals | |
Domestic:
In case of damage, the driver can reduce the excess charge by purchasing SUPER CDW. Side Mirrors, Windscreen and Undercarriage including tyres and rims are not covered by this product. One way rentals are available between locations in Malta; charges will apply depending on the pick-up and drop-off location. The return location must be in Malta.
Pick up Gozo - drop off Malta for a fee of EUR 120.00 per rental (including VAT).
Pick up Malta - drop off Gozo for a fee of EUR 120.00 per rental (including VAT).
Other one-way fees within Malta for a fee of EUR 50.00 per rental (including VAT).
International:
Not permitted.

Collecting and returning your vehicle | |
The driver must present proof of identity when collecting the vehicle. Please see the Driving Licence/ID Requirements section for more information.
During Office Hours
If you are delayed and arrive outside of office hours due to a delayed flight no additional charge will apply. This only applies if you enter your flight number when booking.
If you are late, we will guarantee your rental for 59 minutes. After this time your reserved car may be released and rented to another customer.
Meet Late Arrival / Out of Office Hours - Collection
It may be possible to collect the vehicle out of office hours (between 20.00 and 08.00). This must be requested at the time of booking. This service is not available if the rental is booked online.
We need the following information when you make your booking.
Flight number
Contact telephone number.
Credit card details
If you do not collect the vehicle a "No Show" charge of 1 days rental cost will apply.
Out of Office Hours - Return
If the vehicle is returned outside of office hours the driver is liable for damage or theft until the car has been inspected by a member of Budget staff.
You may return the vehicle out of hours if you request this at the time of booking. There is no charge for this service.
Instructions to return your vehicle outside of office hours: Please return car at rental car park and drop off keys in key return box at the Budget Desk in the Arrivals Lounge.
Non-Cancellation Fee (NCF)
If the customer does not cancel the reservation before the pick-up date/time or does not pick-up the car within 24 hours of the agreed time, a non-cancellation fee of EUR 76.70 (Tax Included) will be charged.
Late Return
Unless agreed differently, all customers must return the vehicle and any optional extras at the time/date and location stated on their rental agreement. If the customer believes they will be late, it is in their best interest to request an extension from us. If the customer is then late in returning their vehicle, they must pay for an extra day's rental for the vehicle and any optional extras plus a late return processing fee for each day/part of a day they are late. The processing fee is EUR 17.70, UKL 18.00 or the equivalent amount in the renting country currency.

Special equipment | |
Baby seat with head hugger from 0 months to 1 year is EUR 9.00 per day, up to the maximum charge of EUR 90.00 per rental.
Child seat from 1 year to 4 years is EUR 9.00 per day, up to the maximum charge of EUR 90.00 per rental.
Child booster seat from 4 years to 12 years is EUR 9.00 per day, up to the maximum charge of EUR 90.00 per rental.
In order to serve you better it is important to pre-book these child seats at reservation stage to ensure their availability at the time of pick-up.
GPS navigation system is available at a cost of 9.00 EUR per day up to the maximum charge of EUR 90.00 per rental.
Hand control for disabled drivers are Not available
