Customers driving within other provinces will be charged $0.50 CAD per km, for every km driven, during the entire rental. Waiver and protection options | | Acceptance of Loss Damage Waiver reduces the renter and authorized additional driver's responsibility to 300.00 or 500.00 CAD for loss of, or damage to the Budget car, when they comply with the terms and conditions listed on the rental document jacket. At the time of rental the customer must initial whether he/she accepts or declines the LDW and optional services. LDW and optional services must be signed for at the rental counter. LDW is taxable. If LDW is not accepted, the customer is financially responsible for the full value of: " Accident Damage " Glass Damage " Stolen items (radio, battery, etc.) " Vandalism " Theft of the car Canceling LDW Once LDW has been purchased it must remain on the contract. The customer has the option to return the car and close the rental agreement, however, this could change the rate for the rental agreement, and a different, possibly higher, rate could apply for a new rental. " must sign a cancellation notice. Loss of Use The customer may also be responsible for reimbursing Budget for the revenue lost by not being able to use the car while it is being repaired or not recovered due to theft (referred to as Loss of Use). Exceptions Exceptions to the above policy are below: ALBERTA Airdrie, Banff, Calgary, Canmore, Okotoks, Red Deer, Springbrook: " LDW is not available for drivers 21-24; they are responsible for the first 5000 CAD of damage. Drivers 25 and over are responsible for the full value of the vehicle if LDW is declined, 300 CAD or 550 CAD if accept. BRITISH COLUMBIA Abbotsford, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 1,000 for group Z PFAR Premium SUV and 500 for all other car groups. Campbell River, Cassidy, Castlegar, Comox, Courtenay, Cranbrook, Duncan, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Nelson, Parksville, Penticton, Port Alberni, Port Hardy, Prince George, Salmon Arm, Tofino, Vernon, West Kelowna: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's financial responsibility to Zero for all car groups except the following: Intermediate and Standard SUV (groups F and W) reduces liability to 1,000 CAD. Queen Charlotte, Sandspit: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 2500 CAD for all car groups. Victoria: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to Zero for all car groups. NEWFOUNDLAND Goose Bay: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 1,000 CAD for all car groups. NORTHWEST TERRITORY Hay River, Yellowknife: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 3750 CAD for all car groups. ONTARIO Thunder Bay: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to zero or 500 CAD depending on car group rented. QUEBEC Drummondville, Plessisville, Sherbrooke, Thetford Mines, Trois Rivieres, Victoriaville: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 750 CAD for all car groups. Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 1500 CAD, 1750 CAD or 2000 CAD depending on car group rented. Saint Georges: " Purchase of LDW reduces the renter's responsibility to 500 CAD or 1000 CAD depending on car group rented. YUKON TERRITORY Whitehorse: " Purchase of LDW will reduce the renter's responsibility to 2,500 to 5,000. CAD depending on the car group rented. Damage to people and their property Public Liability covers injury or death to a third party (persons outside the Budget vehicle). Property Damage covers damage to property other than the Budget vehicle and the renter's, driver's or passenger's property. Depending on the location Budget will provide primary, secondary or no coverage up to the minimum limits required by law in that state. The Rental Document will state what type of coverage is provided. Personal Accident and Effects Insurance (PAE) PAE provides the renter and occupants of the Budget car with accidental death benefits and coverage for certain medical reasons. Renters are protected both in and out of the rental vehicle throughout the entire rental period; occupants are covered only while in the Budget vehicle. In addition, PAE provides protection against loss of or damage to certain personal property of the renter and individuals traveling with the renter. PAE Benefits Type of Coverage Accidental Death - Renter 100,000 CAD and Passengers 10,000 CAD. Medical Coverage for Injuries - Renter or Passengers 3,500 CAD. Ambulance Service - Renter or Passengers 250 CAD. Personal Property Benefits - The maximum coverage per individual is 600 per claim with a maximum coverage of 1,800 CAD for all individuals combined. A deductible of 25.00 CAD per person will apply. Some types of personal effects are not covered under this policy check with rental location or reservations for exceptions.
If LDW is purchased customer is responsible for the following: Car groups: A - E and S - $300.00 CAD. Car groups: G, H, V, XB, XF and XG - $500.00 CAD Car groups: F, K, L, W, X, Z and all other X-class - $1000.00 CAD Car group: P - $2500.00 CAD If LDW is not purchased customer is responsible for the full replacement value of the vehicle. |

Drivers license and ID requirements | | At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name. This location does not accept provisional/graduated licenses, with the exception of Alberta GDL class 5 and Ontario G2. A graduated driver's license surcharge of 19.00 CAD per day will apply for these licenses with exception of select Budget corporate account customers. 15 passenger vehicles require a BC Class 4 or equivalent.
NOTE: Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to their valid driver's license.

FastBreak | | Proceed to Fastbreak counter. Find Customer name on monitor & proceed to designated vehicle area. Choose vehicle & proceed to exit booth, then present drivers license & hang tag to Budget agent. |

Fuel charges | | The vehicle is rented with a full tank of gas and must be returned with a full tank of gas or there will be a charge for refueling. If you have refueled please keep your receipt for verification purposes. Most locations offer a prepaid gas option to purchase a full tank at market value which allows the customer to return the vehicle without a full tank of gas. There is no refund for unused gas. If the vehicle is driven less than 125 kilometers there may be an additional refueling fee, unless a gas receipt is presented at time of return. The customer can check at the time of rental for complete details.

Returns | | If you want to extend the rental or wish to return the vehicle to a different location please contact us as soon as possible. At the latest, this should be before the end date and time on your rental agreement. You will be advised whether the change is possible and any additional costs when you call. If you fail to extend your rental you will be charged the prevailing pay at location prices for the extra days as well as a late return administration fee of 10.00 CAD for each day or part of a day until the vehicle is returned. If you return the vehicle to a different location then you agreed to at time of rental your rate could default to a different rate available on the day you return the vehicle and a one way fee will be applied.
